Judith Collins says if Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern wants to get down and personal - she'll leave her there.

Ardern went for the jugular in Parliament on Wednesday, when the National leader grilled her on proposed hate speech laws.

Ardern said the legislation wouldn't protect Collins from being labelled a so-called "Karen".

Collins told The Country it's not surprise the Prime Minister is getting personal when the hate speech laws are so confusing.

“The Prime Minister has cultivated a very nice persona, and what we saw yesterday was she was under attack, so she went for the personal.

“If the Prime Minister wants to get down there, I’m going to leave her down there.”

Collins also pushed back host Jamie Mackay's suggestion that she should form a coalition with NZ First, telling him to "bugger off" at the suggestion.

Will Iranians Suceed This time

I’m not afraid. I’ve been dead for 47 years this is the voice of a woman in Iran who is fed up with the Islamic republic. 47 years ago, the Islamic Republic took our rights and turned a nation into hostages. Today people have nothing left to lose, they rise. Iran is rising. pic.twitter.com/GAawmynE0C — Masih Alinejad 🏳️ (@AlinejadMasih) January 8, 2026
