Here comes the inflation, 3.3% , for the year, its lifted 2% in the last 3 months

Annual inflation increases to 3.3 percent 16 July 2021, 10:45am Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedIn Annual inflation as measured by the consumers price index (CPI) increased to 3.3 percent in June 2021, Stats NZ said today. This was the biggest increase in nearly 10 years and was driven by higher prices for new housing and petrol. Part of the annual increase was attributable to the fact it is measured against the June 2020 quarter, a period impacted by the COVID-19 lockdown where some prices fell. “A year ago, in the June 2020 quarter, we saw lower petro...

Climate change: NZ imported more than a million tonnes of 'dirty' coal last year

Climate change: NZ imported more than a million tonnes of 'dirty' coal last year 13 Jul, 2021 01:14 PM New Zealand's imported more than a million tonnes of 'dirty' coal from Indonesia only twice in the last 20 years - 2020 and 2006. Photo / File By Jordan Bond,  RNZ In the same year that the Government declared a climate emergency, imports of an especially dirty type of coal from Indonesia topped a million tonnes for the first time since 2006.
